This tournament is sure to be a packed field — when your meta includes multiple World Champions, an NANPC champion, and multiple other consistently strong finishers, it can be hard to choose who to spotlight. All that said, here are a few contenders you should be sure to watch this weekend in Vancover.

May Atlas "metronome"

From: Vancouver & Victoria Metas
Notable Finishes: Undefeated Queen of Swiss and 7th at 2026 Summer Showdown, Top 8 NANPC Vancouver 2024, 3rd Vancouver Districts 2026

May, unaffiliated with a testing group but “single and ready to mingle,” has made a splash this year with some notable finishes both on the West Coast and online. A fan of all things tutoring, she is a true Shaper and Ob-head — although as for the latter, “we’re on break right now.” Watch out for surprises, as you know she’ll be packing just the right tools to get ahead!

"laura_42"

From: NYC & Vancouver Metas
Notable Finishes: 1st NANPC Boston 2025, 2nd NANPC Vancouver 2025, Top 16 Americas Online Continental 2025

Laura’s ready to go this year, with a decisive win at last year’s NANPC Boston under her belt. She’s part of both the SCRUBS and QtM testing groups who she credits for much of her rapid growth. Will there be another breakout Shaper deck, or will strong glacier fundamentals help carry her to the cut?

Sam Keilback "Whiteblade111"

From: Vancouver & Victoria Metas
Notable Finishes: 2nd Cascadia 2025, 1st NANPC Boston 2024, 6th Worlds 2022

A host of The Shadow Net podcast, Sam does more than just host spectacular bakeoff episodes. As a member of the Snare Bears testing group, they’ve notched some very strong finishes over the years. They’re also a major reason that NANPC as an entity exists, which is kinda neat, too. As they roll up for the tournament, keep an eye out for their deckbox, as you’ll never know when they’ll decide to send it with the most aggressive Criminal and Epiphany decks imaginable.
