Who to Watch at NANPC Bay Area 2026

The Bay Area’s only NANPC tournament this year brings excitement and competition this Saturday, April 25, 2026. Games of Berkeley, in Berkeley, CA, a stone’s throw away from the UC Berkeley campus and easily accessible via public transit, will be hosting us for the second year in a row. We’ve had a bit of time since Vantage Point’s release, but there’s still spicy brews to find and some of the Bay’s players are quite the innovators! Here’s a few players to watch for in this one-day tournament.

Check the ABR for more info, or buy your ticket here.

Steve Chung "iherdn3rfz"

Steve is an oldhead who rediscovered Netrunner thanks to the wonderful community in the East Bay. One of the newest members of the Logic Bomb testing group, he’s happiest when piloting high-tempo decks that aim to dictate the pace of the game and force opponents to find answers. These days, he finds joy in forking runners between the winning agenda and a fiery death >:)

Zhendi Cao "metrixgo"

Notable Finishes: 1st Place South Bay Area Districts 2026, 4th Place NorCal Districts 2025, 8th Place APAC CBI 2025

Zhendi is a local high school student very interested in Netrunner, horror games, and cats. His math teacher taught him Netrunner in a high school club, and he enjoys that Netrunner can connect different people together to have fun. Zhendi appreciates that Netrunner is the first board game he’s ever seen that’s totally open source and has such enjoyability, complexity and so many tournaments. His favorite decks to play are “toxic” anarch IDs like Esa and Seb, and glacier control decks like LEO. When not grinding Netrunner you can catch him struggling on his history exams.

Yasser Al-Khder

Notable Finishes: Day 2 at Worlds 2025, 7th Place Cascadia 2025

Another member of testing group Logic Bomb, Yasser relishes the head-to-head competitive nature of a game of Netrunner, the community of people in the game, and the satisfaction one gets when playing a lesser-known but superior game (“In pop music terms, if games like MtG are Taylor Swift, Netrunner is Carly Rae Jepsen or Sophie.”).  Yasser tends to play Criminal and NBN decks, but more generally decks that are heavy on interaction and misdirection. In his words, “if they’re thinking, I’m winning!”
