Who to Watch at NANPC Bay Area 2025

The Bay Area’s second NANPC tournament returns this Saturday, September 20.  This year it’s being held at Games of Berkeley in Berkeley, CA, a stone’s throw away from the UC Berkeley campus.

This will be the first major tournament held under the ban list which will be in place for Worlds 2025, so we should see the start of some interesting innovations! Here’s a couple of players to watch for in this one-day tournament.

Neel Kapse (Nykride)

From: San Francisco
Notable finishes: 9th at Worlds 2024, top cut at NANPC Boston 2024 and Cascadia 2025

A member of testing group Logic Bomb, Neel is a diehard Criminal player (and by NANPC Beans, the best Criminal player of 2024). He probably holds the record for the most top cuts made with Debbie “Downtown” Moreira.  Neel is a fan of dynamic board states and you’ll often see him playing Hermes or rush Ob, where he’s sure to score Above the Law and trash that important resource you just installed.

Fa Phanachet (Wikignometry)

From: San Mateo
Notable finishes: 1st, East Coast US Nationals 2023; 4th, 2024 Circuit Breaker Invitational; 1st, Pittsburgh District Championship 2025

Fa began playing Netrunner in 2023 and very quickly established herself as a top player with a win at East Coast Nats within months of picking up cards.  She tends to play more “reg” decks with no particular favorites but plays them with skill and precision, honed through regular testing against other great players. Fa’s favorite thing about Netrunner is the agency of the game – the choices you can make and the control you can have over your game.
